The third installment in the series of cooperative, online action games, in which players take on the roles of criminals who carry out successive daring heists. The Overkill Software team, the developers of the two previous installments of the series, is responsible for the creation of the game.

PAYDAY 3 is a continuation of the popular series of cooperative action games maintained in a first-person perspective (FPP). Production of the shooter was again handled by Swedish studio OVERKILL Software - a team that has been owned by Starbreeze Studios since 2012.

Storyline

As in previous installments in this game we take control of the members of the PayDay gang - legendary criminals, spreading fear among both cops and other representatives of the gangster underworld. The group gained notoriety throughout the United States, and some reports even accused it of committing crimes in Russia itself. 

Several years have passed since PayDay's reign of terror overtook Washington. One day the audacious robberies unexpectedly ceased, and the gang members seemed to have sunk to the ground, but in reality they were enjoying the benefits of a well-deserved, albeit premature, retirement. The idyll did not last long, however, as a new, unidentified threat appeared on the horizon, forcing the group to return to the criminal path.

Mechanics

As we take control of one of the legendary robbers in this title, our main goal becomes the skillful acquisition of valuable items, while avoiding and eliminating AI-controlled enemies. In this production the player's tactical sense is put to the test. A cool assessment of the situation, the abilities of individual gang members and the soundness of the previously developed plan will prove important. As the game progresses, our character gains experience, which is necessary to unlock new skills, in addition to gaining proficiency in the use of firearms. Although the actions we carry out are primarily aimed at acquiring large sums of gold, cash or jewelry, in the course of their execution we can also come into possession of more tools of murder, which may prove to be crucial in subsequent missions.
