The second part of a series of action games with survival horror elements, created for fun in an asymmetric multiplayer mode. In Deceit 2, players take on the roles of the "innocent" and the infected; the former must escape from the psychiatric hospital, and the latter try to prevent them from doing so.

Deceit 2 is the second installment of the series of multiplayer action games with survival horror elements, launched in 2017. The title was developed by the authors of the first part of the series, the World Makers studio (formerly known as Automaton Games).

Storyline

Deceit 2 takes us on a journey to Millhaven Psychiatric Hospital, where an occult ritual was performed in 1979, which only one person managed to survive. Decades later, the so-called Anonymous Truth Seekers appear on the site, whose goal is to learn the history of this place and unravel the mystery of its past. Unfortunately, things get out of control when they become victims of the mysterious Game Master, and two of them become infected with a virus that allows them to turn into terrifying monsters.

Mechanics  

In Deceit 2, the gameplay differs depending on the role we play. In the skin of one of the healthy ones (called "innocent" by the creators), we have to look for the souls trapped in the hospital, because only collecting them all gives us access to the key that opens the escape route. Moreover, we should carefully observe the other participants in order to react in time to their behavior that deviates from the norm. Two people are actually infected, and their goal is to activate blood altars to tear the shroud of reality and transfer the "innocents" to a hellish dimension called the Intersphere. While the infected turn into monsters with terrifying powers and their goal is to complete the ritual by killing one of the healthy Seekers, each of the "innocents" must do everything to ensure that he is not sacrificed.
